Sculptural Forms and Woven Narratives in Contemporary Art

Shape analysis, which I use in the course of my work, allows me not only to read the human figure, but also any object. Paul Cezanne’s approach to the shape that he pointed out, is used and developed by painters and sculptors working in this direction. It is not a dogmatic scheme. The shape is being enriched in the process of the experience accumulation , the play of details is being created, then they are being combined, turning into a single whole. But the basis–trunk–culture remains unchanged. Amazing shapes in the form of large and small volumes, also convexity and concavity resembling the raging sea and the mountains which are so similar to a female figure, are so necessary for my work.

My Artwork

Margo, 1985–2019, Bronze, 1.8 m

Inspired by mountains and sea, my works move between figuration and abstraction, offering space for personal reflection.

Sculpture

Leshy, 2022-2025, 200x160

Each woven image carries a sculptural clarity and palpable volume - figures seem to emerge from the fabric, full of presence and motion.

Tapestry

The Adriatic. Canvas, oil. 75x113, 2002.

Light, memory, and movement - captured in color.

Painting

Magnolias on red. Two-layer silk, painting. 2014.

In these works, myth and memory unfold in flowing lines, each brushstroke guided by intuition and reverence for the ephemeral.

Silk

Сomposition ATAMUNI, Damascus steel, 2022

This ongoing series explores the intersection of sculpture and jewelry, where the form is distilled into an intimate, wearable scale.

Miniature Forms & Precious Materials

Olive trees. Pencil, acrylic, paper 210х297. Spain, Andalusia, 2016.

A tribute to the landscapes that speak without words.
